Medications we prescribe
- Zepbound (tirzepatide): weekly injection
- Wegovy (semaglutide): weekly injection
- Oral Wegovy (semaglutide): daily pill taken on an empty stomach
- Foundayo (orforglipron): daily pill, with or without food
- Phentermine (Adipex-P, Lomaira): short-term appetite suppressant (Schedule IV controlled substance)
- Qsymia (phentermine-topiramate): once-daily capsule (Schedule IV controlled substance)
Other options, such as Contrave, Saxenda, orlistat and metformin, may be considered when appropriate. Your physician will discuss what fits your situation.
Not every medicine fits every person
GLP-1 type medicines are not appropriate for everyone, including people with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2, and during pregnancy. Your physician reviews your history, current medicines and goals before recommending anything.
